***EDIT***
jamie, in her infinite wisdom, noted that it was schroeder from peanuts and not calvin that this picture of elsie brings to mind. she was right!

we’ve got back to back weddings this weekend, last night was so much fun and we can’t wait for today’s down in san juan capistrano! jamie took elsie on a walk before we left yesterday. i just love this little moment she captured. the pic immediately made me think of calvin and hobbes. elsie is such a little rascal and always into something (messy). she’s growing up way to fast (sigh).

Stay tuned for more wedding posts coming soon!

We had a blast with Aimee and Damien on their wedding day! It’s so wonderful to witness such love. They were relaxed and beaming all day long. Their ceremony was held at the Wayfarer’s Chapel in Palos Verdes, stunning!
This series totally gets me!

Just married and coming down the aisle- one of our favorite shots to get!

Then some couple shots around the chapel:

Leaving the chapel, they saw this cool building and hopped out of the limo for a few shots!

and then once we got to the reception site, we realized we had 15 minutes to spare, so we hopped back in the car and found this cool alley that had so much potential

Then the reception! Aimee is a scrapbooker and did a lot of her details by hand! I love how she incorporated the cherry blossoms throughout. Her color scheme was super fun too!
reception highlights– which included some cool dance performances and her father’s speech that brought tears to my eyes.
and after some serious partying, we brought them outside in the evening light for more pictures!

We love you guys and hope that your honeymoon was relaxing! Thanks for spending your day with us :)

we’ve got a shoot today with one of our awesome couples. in what is a first for us, we’ll be hitting up the actual wedding venue for the engagement session (wayfarer’s chapel in palos verdes). we’ve been playing around with a 24mm tilt shift lens, i think we’ll take it to the shoot today. here’s a few i took of elsie yesterday. i love the pics, though they don’t really represent elsie as she’s rarely this melancholic. happy sunday everyone.

Janice and Andrew got married at the luxe on Sunset last weekend. It was such a cool looking hotel and Janice made it personal with so many details.

I loved seeing Janice with her girls, they were so giddy together.

the super cool Andrew…

Waiting for the ladies to get ready:
the lovely bride!

Her bouquet was gorgeous!!! Peonies, orchids and callas- some of my favorites!

the bridal court took a little walk before the ceremony.

Janice and her dad, look how proud he is!
The couple read letters to their parents during the ceremony…Andrew’s father beamed.

The groomsmen

Janice and her girls being silly

Some of the many details that Janice and her team (Joy Loo was her coordinator, calm and collective at 8 months pregnant!) worked so hard on. Flowers by Kate Baker. So pretty!!! Design coordinating by the fabulous Paola from just chic events. Cupcake tower by Jolene of A Sweet Design.
The reception was filled with some of Janice’s favorites….a tea bar with lots of sweets and cupcakes!
the tea bar

Janice and her dad had the funnest father/daughter dance–they were so good together!
There was also this cool wishing tree at the reception, the guests left little notes of encouragement for janice and andrew. we think these two said it best!

Thanks for allowing us to be part of your day, have a great time in Hawaii!!
after a hiatus last year, our little town was back in business on the 4th with a great fireworks display. we’re fortunate enough to live right next to the high school so we’re about 75 yards from the launch of all those colorful explosions!

even though mommy prepared her all day for what was to come, elsie was still a tinge mortified when the sky caught fire!
hope everyone had a great 4th, we’re off to shoot a fabulous wedding today!
